What makes these earrings the right balance of colour and sophistication is the translucency of the gemstones. Opaque gemstones such as malachite, lapis lazuli and turquoise give a much more stirking contrast.
Our favourite gemstones for a neutral look are pale clear stones such as lemon quartz or a gorgeous brown Smokey quartz.
