Top Ten AW14 High Street Jewellery

As much as we love oggling designer jewels it’s great to splash out a jewellery haul. We’re also almost at the season for parties and sparkle so I have been through the high streets and put together my top picks.

I’ve chosen the party season traditional colours of black, white and gold so that you will get the luxury look for less. Gold and minimalism have been really popular trends this season with a focus on metalwork, ombre effects and minimalist shapes.

This cord bracelet is from high street jewellery favourite Topshop. Cord bracelets are more fun and do come back in and out of fashion. I particularly like the contrast of the small cord with the thick bracelet. This piece will look great on its own or in a stack and I can already picture this fitting on to my bracelet stack.

These are my favourite high street purchase for AW14. I love the ombre metal trend and I see bigger things for it in 2015. There is also an increasing trend for big chain earrings and River Island are on it. If you want to tackle three trends in one look try wearing just one earring. Yes, the one earring only trend has really taken off and this is the perfect earring to try this with.

I really love many of the pieces from Zara Simon for Accessorize Collection but my absolute must is this dainty little heart ring. It reminds me of other pieces featured in my earlier Cut Out and Cute post. But what I really love about this ring is that it’s fairly timeless; although trends are for small and simple rings this is a trend that will come in and out of fashion. It also gives a really luxurious look for less.

Geometric Friendship Bracelet – Urban Outfitters – £6.00

This delicate friendship bracelet is a steal at £6.00. This piece is definitely for weekend wearing. The cord is very thin and delicate and I love the two alternative shapes that are linked together suggesting wonderful friendship sentiments.

Trend Alert! – Chokers are back! Yes the choker as made a come back this AW14. I particularly love this one from Topshop because it’s very elegant has so many different trends in this one piece. It uses pearls which are on-trend for AW14 and also has the beautiful fabric woven with chains which is a trend that’s been much loved. Check out choker edit – 10 chokers for the modern woman (and not a velvet one in site!)

Millie’s Vintage Ring Pack – Dorothy Perkins – £16.50

These rings are from the Dorothy Perkins and Millie Mackintosh exclusive jewellery collaboration. You can wear these rings together or individually with other pieces from your jewellery box. We particularly love the pearl centre set ring with the crystals as it makes for an elegant cocktail ring. As it’s going to be party season soon you can wear these to all the different events over the winter season. From the bonfire night to the office Christmas party you will be stuck for choice of which one to wear. See our other jewellery features with Millie Mackintosh

This gorgeous cuff mixes the abstract and the organic and is one of the most wearable pieces in our AW14 top 10 high street buys. It’s versatile nature means you can wear this to the office, in the park and out for drinks. The wonderful things about cuffs is that you don’t need to wear a lot of other jewellery. We would keep this look simple by pairing with simple studs or small drop earrings.

This long curb chain necklace from Miss Selfridge is a fantastic purchase for yourself or as a gift in Secret Santa. The long chain is a piece that any one can wear. Best to wear it with a simple outfit such as a breton top and jeans. Like the cuff above long necklaces are an easy piece to style as it is best to keep other jewellery to a minimum. Pair with the either a simple singular bracelet or with one of the Dorothy Perkins and Millie Mackintosh vintage rings.

Pearl studs are a piece of jewellery that every woman should own. See here for our pearl stud edit.  However, the latest trend for peal studs is to wear studs that have a reversible back. These are earrings that you can wear to any occasion. We suggest wearing them as a pair reversed in the day and swapping them for only one stud in the evening for an edgy but elegant look.

Shiny pearl crystal ear cuff – Zara – £12.99

Ear cuffs have been on trend for a while now but I always think they look best at in the winter season. This ear cuff from Zara is the perfect winter accessory as it is very edgy but also feminine with the use of crystal and pearls. Wear this at the Christmas party for high impact!
